Not bad for a first pass with the new Canon. It was a glorious day of clouds to be experimenting with!

oooooooooohhhhhh
amazing clarity.. how did you get the black background for the roses?
Something to do with depth of field, but I am not in control yet.
Happy accident.
Beautiful photos!! Wow! The sky in the second pic is the same sky I saw in our neighborhood about two days ago; didn’t have my camera/phone with me — What do you call that “sunburst” formation of the clouds? It is just beautiful! Have fun with your new baby, Lilly!
The thin wisps are high cirrus clouds, but obviously propelled by a lot of wind to get those striations. Then with the mid-level cumulus–well, awesome! I was running upstairs, downstairs, backyard, frontyard all day! Didn’t drive till later because of the fuzziness in my head. The train I got as I was going to try and catch the sunset.
Awesome stuff. The train pic reminds me of an elementary class I took in art, as a young kid. We were learning about “perspective” and had to draw something, going from large to small. I drew a train. Your pic is better! You would have gotten an A+!
Awesome shots ! Is this your first Canon?
Yes.
Actually, I still love my Kodak, but it is limited in some functions.
Looking good.
Off to watch the DVD so I know more of what I’m doing.
What do you have?
Amazing! What kind of camera is it? As you can see from my photos, I don’t know what I am doing. I aim, I fire, before I was ever ready.
It’s a Canon Rebel EOS T21. Man, looking through the manula and the DVD is overwhelming. But I guess bit by bit. What do you have?
A lowly point and shoot… Canon PowerShot SX40 HS. It was their latest model when we bought it in December. What I wanted was that 35x zoom. It has a lot of manual options, but with birds it is hard to know what to use for them since they are so flighty.
What I can see right now that has so much potential is the 3.7 frames per second function–good for grandbabies and birds!
I was out taking pictures of the clouds yesterday. They were beautiful, and it’s rare that we get beautiful clouds. Usually just the marine layer clouds — dull, gray, and overcast.
My intent is to use them as skies in other pictures that need a beautiful sky instead of the dull, gray, overcast mess.
Truly beautiful photos… you look like an expert to me.
Listening to the DVD was overwhelming! Glad for auto settings for right now.
Looks like you have “flying saucers” down there–big white fluffy ones.
I love all the changes of clouds here. The wind shear around the mts. gives us some weird formations.
Oh THE SKY!
Wooow! The second cloud picture from the top is… phew!
You have just made it so much harder for me to wait patiently to be able to make my purchase!
I got such a deal at Costco, too–camera, bag, 2 lenses, and all the cords and DVD.
Perhaps I am just sad! But I like the trains I have an obsession about taking an epic train journey – but the clouds are lovely too!
I thought this train was cool because it was warmed by the sun setting to the left of the pic and all the cars were uniform.
Fire the Canon indeed, these photos look more like the cannon was fired. Awesome photos!
Thanks. Working on it.
