Bed, Bath, and Because

. . . because art and beauty are everywhere!

It is easy to miss the small things

without a new way of seeing.

The nuances of shape and color,

go undetected in the have-tos of morning regimen.

How many things have I missed from You

in my busy, list-checking, rushed life?

If I made room for the silences instead of seeing only the obligations,

hearing only the ticking of time and the demands of deadlines,

how many nuances of Your intervention would I not miss?

great poem–and I love that first picture especially with the shadows on the blinds.

    • Every morning I would look at that and say to myself: Go get your camera! Finally did.

      • I smiled at your comment, apronheadlilly. I had a small dusty spiderweb in my bedroom that looked so pretty when the sun hit it just so. I couldn’t remove it until I took a picture. I think the web got quite a bit dustier before I finally remembered to take the picture on a nice sunny day. It’s gone now…

Nice one, Lilly, and so true! It’s amazing what we can miss out on when we forget to wear our “Spiritual glasses!” ~0¦-p

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! ~sigh~

  5. Very pretty photos. 🙂 Amazing how you can make a bath scrubbie look like art.

What a gift you have, Lilly, to see the Hand of God everywhere. Most of us miss it. Thanks for reminding us…

That first shot is especially nice, Lilly.

    • We used to have verticals on both windows. When the verticals on the right died, we replaced them with horizontal blinds, which gives this wonderful pattern every morning. I have been thinking about taking the pic almost every morning for months! Finally just up and did it! 😉
