If you say something funny in a forest,
and there is no one there to laugh,
is it still funny?
Random rest stop near Mt. Shasta '10
Sure, it is still funny, because I would be there to laugh at myself. 🙂
Ah, good point!
Wow! Great photos! I’m a WordPress photographer as well, so I love seeing posts like this! Keep up the good work!
My alter ego Gramma Krackers said years ago: “If a joke cracks in the forest and there’s no one to hear it, is it still funny?” Great minds think alike! 😀
Absolutely. But there’s more fun in having those to hear, right?
Yes, and to laugh!! 😀
Yest it is still funny…(to continue a previous comment) because if you can not laugh at yourself, then life will seem a continuous struggle. I know I would find it funny…!!! 🙂
As long as we don’t laugh too long or loud, we’re probably still safe. 🙂
My favorite is, “If a man says something in the forest and his wife isn’t there to hear it, is he still wrong”? And I think..YES, funny is in the eye of the beholder…I’m hoping. :).
He’s probably wrong in or out of the forest! 🙂
Not if I posted it 🙂
You never know. That’s funny. 🙂
Great shots! Were you lying down? And that twist on a philosophic question is great!
Lying down? Mmm. Sometimes I do, but it’s hard work getting up. What I do a lot is put my camera down, and then check to see what I got. I love that perspective of bottom to top.
What was funny was on this trip with hubby and my sister-in-law was when we went to Yosemite. It was raining the whole time. I had an umbrella and was trying to take pictures, too. They couldn’t figure why the back of my coat was wet (think butt area) and the rest of me was dry . . . Until they saw me leaning over to get the camera down low. I kept getting that area out from under the protection of the umbrella. 🙂
If it was one of my jokes, the answer is no because they are never funny in the first place…or so the trees tell me when I talk to them. I like the trees that you were talking to.
I do talk to trees . . kind of. Not sure wherer that leaves us–one step closer to tree hugging.
Beautiful pictures again, Lilly.
Thanks a bunch!
great pics, I have always loved the Shasta region. Thank-you for sharing.
Mt. Shasta is beautiful, and this old sentinel was standing unappreciated at a rest stop . . . till, of course, I loved it!
So beautiful, Lilly!!!!!!!
hello, ms. lily,
there’s something majestic and mysterious in the forest… and there’s a photographer who knows where to put her camera and when to click it. she’s some lucky nature-lover and poetess,
i suppose… ^^ thanks for the lovely post you just shared…
cheers to you and your family! 🙂 🙂
Oh I would say yes! A funny is always funny even if you’re the only one laughing! 😉
Your photos are awesome! I love the foggy Yosemite shot…and the “random rest stop” one is very cool. I love the bark! Great post!
***sorry: Sequoia not Yosemite!
Sequoia that day was so fogged in, but it made for mystical shots. Fun! We actually left there and drove to Yosemite where it was foggy still and raining. Makes for some interesting shots!
