Weekly Photo Challenge: Journey

OR '11

Bridges speak of journey to me because they enable you to go where once you could not.

And paths and roads speak of journeys, not just because they have an end in mind, but because along the way there is change and trial and joy and growth, which is just as important as the destination.

I love the photo of your sons. It’s the trust that is there between them as they hold hands. “You stay with me and we will be OK. Trust me”.
The detail of the bridge is great. I like that it is in b/w. Monochrome seems to add another dimension to it.
    Thanks Lily.

    • The scanned older photos aren’t the best quality, but they are still some of my favorites.

The bridge was taken from the car. I wanted soooooo much to stop, but you know men–must press on to the destination! Actually, hubby is getting much better at stopping for his wife. πŸ™‚

I love this post. I have always been drawn to bridges.

    • Me, too. There are several of these old bridges over the main freeway up through OR and WA. One of these days I’ll make the hubby pull off and stop instead of grabbing a quick shot through the window. πŸ™‚

  3. Love your photos and thoughts about bridges, roads, and paths. I am crazy about paths and take pictures and write about them whenever I can! I also love trees. Thanks for sharing.:)

Love the ones of your boys! How far the journey to ‘today’ must have seemed then!

They’re so cute when they’re that age, aren’t they? As for your photography, you are definitely the best. Your shots are always thought-provoking…

I would love to hear from you!
