Bugs and Blossoms

Small, almost lost in the bigness of water and trees and mountains towering.

Insignificant, compared to terror and politics and financial machinations.

But small enough to mend thread bare places in my soul;

insignificant enough to blend together heart-sighs into smiles–

small enough to bring joy.

  1. That is an amazing dragonfly! There are some beautiful things in California that we probably won’t ever see out here.

    • I have never seen a red one before. I’m not sure if it is an anomaly or a different kind. It was zipping around all over the place and I couldn’t get it in focus till finally it lit on a branch and just stayed. I got one fairly clear shot! Then I said, “Thank you!” 🙂

  2. Nice photography, Lily, and the poetry with it is a winning team.

  3. Dor says:

    You inspire me to look at the little things to see life at a different level. Love the photographs and the wonderful words too.

  4. Poetry and photos very complementary!! And of course, the red dragonfly excites me!

  5. Shez says:

    Nice. 😀

    We have the same kind of red dragonflies in our yard. They haven’t appeared yet but should soon be hovering around the pond. Ours are quite large as dragonflies go.

I would love to hear from you!
