My Birthday Orchid

I was just as pleased to visit the orchid place and snap away, snap away.  But hubby decided I should have one for my very own.  Funny, if I care for it according to the directions, the owner said it could outlive me.  I asked him if he was a prophet.

So happy birthday to me today.  It now has 10 blossoms to bless me with.

Heard that you water with an ice cube……that way, can’t overwater and as it slowly melts….don’t know for sure, as I have a black thumb……..but, happy birthday and here’s to you outliving the orchid……….

    • The guy said you wait till they are totally dry, then you soak with good drainage over the sink drain. 20 minutes later, soak again and completely drain. Then let dry out again. I didn’t water mine for 3 weeks the first time. We’ll see if it works.

This is a stunning colour for an orchid. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful flower with us. Orchids are one of my favourite flowers.

I would love to hear from you!
