Here is proof positive. See the love.
This is before they grow up to be idiots and before my vandalism escapade.
Gotta love the wardrobe, right. I was stylin’. Cool chick. Pun intended. 🙂

I gotta say, there is a little devilish glint in your eye. It’s kind of scary!!! And yes, your fashion statement was about as elegant as mine! Wow!!! LOL! We were really cooooool back then! Ha!
🙂 Actually, I don’t think cool was even on my radar.
That’s a lotta chickens!
I talked to my mom and asked her how many we’d get at a time. In my head, I thought it was 500, but I started to imagine 500 in our big henhouse, and that didn’t seem possible. I guess we got 50-60 at a time. A bit different–off by a 0. 🙂 Seemed a lot to a kid.
Now I’ve gotta go find your chicken story! lol
Yes, you were the epitome of fashion AND style! lol I’ve got a few of those pics myself… just not all that brave enough to share with anyone. hehe
Bravery? Hm. Not sure that’s it/ 🙂
LMBO!!!!
Baby chicks are so cute at that puff ball age. 🙂 We were all wearing those outfits at the time.
And we called the shoes “running shoes.” 🙂
We called them tennis shoes, whether we ever played tennis or not. lol
Running shoes whether we ran or not. They should have been just called cheap for a family of 9 shoes. 🙂
What a great photo!
This was the year we had the chicks above our “back” kitchen; we called it the attic, and it was a big high-ceilinged storage room that I daydreamed in.
nice shot… i like it.
It’s fun to have the old photos. 🙂
Fun memories!
I totally believed your story without a picture. I could feel your aggravation! But this photo is great! You were right in style.
I guess it was country style for an 11-year-old. 🙂
Yeah, I always thought chicks were soooo cute until they grew up and chased me! (and man did their cages smell, ugh) 🙂
