Lilac Hopping

136 - Copy

I was out in my sanctuary (more about that later), waiting for a hummer friend to show.  Looking up through the lilacs for birds, I spotted this jewelled creature.  I love butterflies but seldom see them in my yard.

The first couple of shots were on settings for the undergrowth, so I had too much exposure.  But move fast, fast, Lilly!  And I did.  So I got a couple with better light.

Now I look up all the time I’m out, hoping for Yellow Swallowtails to come back.  So pretty!
