Forgotten Grace

720 - Copy

I knew it then as grace and not entitlement.

I knew it, knew it,

and embraced it with humble joy,

but the substance of delight faded with the days, the gathering of life events.

The hollow and impoverished part of me hungered for the next grace and left those weighty memories thankless, parceled away in unused closets of my heart, sealed with callous.

I didn’t mean to be thankless.

I didn’t mean to sequester such important things into the vagueness of my busyness.

Forgotten grace, long past.

To remember, to honor, is to feel again the rich grace lavishly rained on one so unworthy.

You are SUCH an amazing and beautiful woman/soul. Thanks for this reminder not to forget. It’s easy, you know, to forget when there’s so much pain. I know you already know this but every time I forget, I have to go quietly, by myself and ask for God to help give me strength. I pray for this for you too, now, my friend! (((hugs)))

    • Thanks for such kind words. I’m not sure how God infiltrates and uses my dreams because many of them are very squirrelly. 🙂 But so often as I am waking, the words start coming (with the inspiration and conviction), and I must rise quickly to catch it. This was this morning’s catch.

Well God bless you for listening to His communication with you! You know that’s how it was with prophets I’m sure. I think you could very well be one of His special messengers. Now before you get all humble on me, remember that He uses ALL of us in special ways… this is just one of the ways He uses you. I’m just glad you listen because you really DO minister to me so I’m positive you’re reaching others the same way 🙂 Again, this was especially beautiful today!

  2. Amen! Lilly, you have captured the prayer and shame of my heart perfectly. Thank you!

  3. Just lovely. Wonderful use of words to convey what all recipients of grace have experienced at one time or another.
