Amazon Dot Everything

If you don’t think you can buy just about everything on Amazon.com, think again.

Now to be honest, I tried going to my local gardening shop, and the lady kept putting me off–2 weeks, 3 weeks, soon!  I like to support local business, but then I checked on Amazon, and wouldn’t you know it!  I bought 1500 ladybugs to attack my aphid problem on my roses.  They arrived alive by USPS.  🙂  And now they are happily feasting, and I am happy, as well!

Never heard if such a thing!! That’s hysterical! Can you imagine what it’s like to be the guy or gal who works in the ladybug factory?! 🙂

    • I came in from watering my roses yesterday and felt something on my neck. I slapped it hesitantly and captured it, only to find it was one of my ladybugs. I apologized. She was still ok. Then I gently took her out to eat aphids. 🙂 My friends.

  2. Where did those things come from? I hope not China. 🙂

We were invaded one year. Our house was covered in Asian Ladybugs one autumn when they wanted to hibernate here.

What a wonderful idea. I’ll have to remember this.

You have the good kind! We get the bad kind – look alike lady bugs who simply nest indoors in grape clusters. Another mistaken import that was made with good intentions.

  5. I have used ladybugs twice for aphids and the results were great both times. I was very fortunate that both times I was able to make this purchase locally; if this doesn’t work in the future I will keep Amazon on my list.

    • Just be aware as mentioned above that there are some kinds that are not good to get. I had no idea, but mine appear to be the regular “happy” America kind. 🙂

I would never have thought of Amazon for lady bugs!

  8. I would never have thought to look on Amazon for ladybugs. But then again, I would never have thought to look on the internet! I guess since I don’t have much roses, I’ve never needed to obtain 1500 at one time! Good to know!
Have fun and have a great week!

  9. That is so interesting!! Love that you can actually order them online!!

  10. I did not know you could buy lady bugs online. Not that I have a garden, but if I did I would totally by myself some lady bugs.

I would love to hear from you!
