I find the spam folder very interesting. I hadn’t looked at it recently, but before I trashed it I glanced through a few. Besides the weirdos trolling for sex or my bank account, I find it interesting that one “viewer” thought one of my poems about loss was very funny. It is also entertaining that one thought my “About” section was relevant to current events. Hardly. 🙂 Who are these people?
Thank you, WordPress for saving me from the _______ (You can fill in the blank! And be nice; it’s Sunday!)
The question of who these people are is very interesting to me too. I get posts complimenting me on the spiritual nature of my blogs which are obviously from people who haven’t read it. Why do they bother?
Some I think just want you to respond to perhaps sell you something or something more nefarious, but most sound stupid! Often they seem like a variety of phrases or sentences jumbled together, and it doesn’t even make sense. So maybe it’s just WP vandalism? Curious.
You should see what happens to English when it’s put through a computer translation programme. We got a few laughs in when we lived in Quebec. Gloves were advertised with “mesh back for snug fit.” The translation “… pour un confortable coup d’apoplexy.” (A comfortable seizure.) If you put Hindi Tagalog or Chinese through a translation programme you’d get the same wrong definition plus a jumble of syntax.
I can often tell if my students are using Google translate because they will come up with weird translations or things out of context. 🙂
Oh, I have meant to compliment you on the high spirituality factor on your blog! 🙂
