Very cute–but my experience seems to tell me that that caption could be backwards . . .

    No, in my experience.

  3. This is such a lovely photo to have captured!

I’ve been hearing a lot of that “racket” going on in the backyard lately! Good shot.

    • Babies hatching and feeding and still a lot of love-making going on makes for the raket in my yard. Then there are the neighbors–but that’s a different story!

We’ve been blessed in the neighbor department for the most part. I saw the funniest thing today! Are you familiar with cowbirds, laying their eggs in others’ nests? I heard a young bird harping for dinner and saw it was a cowbird. I kept watching to see who was parenting–a little song sparrow! It was hilarious to see “baby” nearly twice it’s size hopping along behind, fluttering its wings. I wish I could have gotten a picture.

        • That’s hysterical. So the adopted mom will actually do the mothering and not reject it. That is so interesting. I have seen cowbirds, but not that. Fun!

I would love to hear from you!
