OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOklahoma where the stream comes bleating o’er the plain! (Does anyone really know the words to that song?
What? Doesn’t everyone sing musicals when it is 113 degrees in the shade? That’s crazy heat!
Home, home and deranged; where the deer eat the buffalo plain. ♪♪♪♫♫♪
What a beautiful day!
Yours or mine? You’ve been reading that positive confession stuff again!
Oh, wait; that’s an OK thing. I just got it. 🙂
Are you sure he isn’t just crying, “Water…water…”?
It could’ve been. It was through the window and my fans are on HIGHHHHHHH!!!!!
He doesn’t look that distressed, though. Whereas I imagine you look like a washcloth thrown over the towel bar and dripping, which is what I’d look like.
🙂
Funneeee! Personally, I like “The Surrey With the Fringe on Top.” Gawd, now I’m gonna have those songs in my head for the rest of the day. Thanks!!! 🙂 Fun post.
🙂 Some of those musicals are like that! I actually hate that musical because of it!
Hahahaha! The birdie really does look like he’s belting out Oklahoma! Naturally I have forgotten the words too, butt I do know the tune and now it keeps rolling around in my head. 🙂
My pleasure. 🙂
I know the words, and I still have the sheet music. I doubt my daughter knows them even though she lives in Oklahoma. 🙂
🙂 As long as she gets the OOOOOOOO part, that’s enough!
Man his feet must be hot 😦 When I used to raise parakeets and it was warm they would hold their wings out like a dog panting I guess now the cat I never see her swaet she loves the heat 🙂
Don’t tell anybody, but these were taken when it was only in the 90s. 🙂
🙂
Oh, Lilly, I’m ROFL. I think the heat is getting to you. Stay safe!
Surely! 🙂 Actually, there is cloud cover today. Yay!
For the record, I know every word to “Oklahoma!” plus hand motions. It’s okay to be jealous.
Wow, I am so impressed. So what’s happening on the “plain”? 🙂
The wind comes sweepin’ down the plain. And the wavin’ wheat can sure smell sweet when the wind comes right behind the rain! 🙂
See I knew there was wind in there somewhere. “The wind keeps calling out my name!” Oh, no that’s Moriah. 🙂
Thank you for once again starting my day off with a smile and a chuckle! Eating the buffalo plain! Where do you come up with this stuff. You and my hubby would hit it off grand; his mind is an enigma as well!
We actually had a wonderful mid 80s day with a nice northern breeze; if I hadn’t had company, I wouldn’t have even had my air on!
I won’t even begin to tell you how weird my mind is. I remember my dreams, much to my hubby’s chagrin. 🙂
We have cloud cover today! Yay! It’s only 82 at 9 a.m. We’re supposed to get thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow. That’s August weather, but nobody told the atmosphere/
We had a high of 90 on 4th of July – that’s April weather for us. LOL It dropped to the mid to lows 70s that night for watching fireworks, I was cold. 😛
I bet that was nice. We are still hot here, but not the 112s of a week ago. I just came back from walking in the park, and for me 80 something with exertion is too much! I should move to Iceland!
LOL, than you would have gotten frostbite on your walk! Its been near 100s (still low for us this year) and we have another cold front coming in on Sunday, 80s with the lows in the upper 60s! And we have a chance for rain! Yea! Even with all the flooding, we are now dry as a bone! (well not nearly as dry as you, but dry for us!) Have a great weekend and don’t overdo it!
The temps have been lower here for a couple of days, and we too got some sprinkles. Nice change!
I have my doors and windows open and I’m chilly! Of course I’m weird and wear sweaters when its a 100 outside! but am loving the smell and the coolness.
Its rained nearly all day, we needed it. Yea! No watering today!
I actually planted a plant yesterday in our xeriscape front yard. Yay. It’s a Russian sage and it is more dormant, but it should bloom nice and purple when it cools more.
post a pic when it comes out of dormancy
Actually, just getting it in the ground and giving it some good water is already hekping green up and blossom brighter.
Can’t wait to see it!
BTW, I like your weird mind!
🙂 Oh, good!
I live in Oklahoma, and I’m not sure I could get all the words right; maybe with a sing a long I could fake it!
You should’ve been my go-to for the words, but then it wouldn’t be as weird. 🙂 And weird is the goal.
Well you nailed it! LOL
I would have had to Google it anyway!
It’s got to count for something if you at least get the articles and prepositions right!
LOL
In this weather the only show tune that makes sense to me is “I’m gonna wash that man right out of my hair.” But instead, I run from South Pacific to Damn Yankees singing, “I’ve got SSSteam heat, I’ve got sssteam heat…”
I don’t remember that one, but it certainly applies!
