    Very cool photos. I love the curves and color in the first one, even though it looks like some kind of especially bizarre alien to me.
    As for eating them: I tried the fruit. It is sweet, bland, good. Messy to peel and de-spine. The juice stains. It is ripe when it gets darker, almost purple, at least for the variety we grew in our yard when living in California.
