A Big Yellow Car

When this classic whizzed by, I snapped it with my purse camera–my point and shoot.  And I had a very clever title that popped in my mind at the time, too; however, it escapes me now, so the above one will have to do.

  1. At this stage in life, our thoughts go speeding away like that car. 😀 How about Big Yellow Boat out of Water?

  2. randallslack says:

It’s a 1957 Ford Fairlane convertible. A very rare car as it went up against the 1957 Chevy Belair and thus, did not sell very well. Typically, they came with a 292 V8 @ 190 hp and a 3 speed cruse-o-matic automatic transmission. They sold for around $2,700 new. A retractable metal roof model, the skyliner, had the trunk open up electrically to store the roof in the trunk. Even more rare and sold new for around $3,200. They sell today for as much as $100,000.

  3. That car just makes you want to go along!

I would love to hear from you!
