This reminds me I need to put Opuntia humifusa on my wish list. 🙂 It is a cactus that is said to grow in Iowa. I think I have the perfect spot for it… with the cockleburs that grows by the south side of the house. I was told those cockleburs are native, so I let most be, but I sure won’t be barefootin’ over there. 🙂
Really. My friend touched one of these cacti between (she thought) the spikes. But there are all sorts of spikes almost invisible to the eye. She was hurting!
The pear apples have been plentiful this year. The first one is very creative! Well, they all are.
