You know those folks who decorate even before Thanksgiving?  Well, Mr. Bossy, who thinks he owns the front yard feeder, is certainly ready for the season.

    • A beauty, but I have never seen one quite so bossy. He will let no other bird drink from his personal feeder! And he just sits there and yells at me!

You made me laugh! The ‘Beauty’ has Attitude!!!
I’ve never seen a bird with such a striking color, wow!

        • It is structural color, not just pigment. That is why he may look black headed, but then with a turn of the feathers and varying light, it can be all shades of red to magenta!

I find that interesting as well as amazing re: the structural coloring. You are something, Lilly, you have such an array of knowledge and I enjoy what you share. You are humble in all that envelops you and that is what I admire and respect the most!

        • You are so kind. If I could only make a living at all this interesting stuff. 🙂

Mr. Bossy says it is a fact that he OWNS the front yard.

If I looked as handsome as that, I would own everything, not just the front yard.

Wow! That shot would make the perfect Christmas card! And I can’t think of a more beautiful ornament for a tree. I am truly impressed! 🙂

Wouldn’t this live shot make the absolutely perfect Christmas card?

Ah, the joy of being yelled at by birds! Mr. Nuthatch was giving me the what-for today. 😀 Your fellow is a cutie.

  6. Great shot! Such a beautiful little one!

I would love to hear from you!
