A Fall

The leaves moved gently, rocked like a baby by a mothering wind, and

the green melted away to color and crisp, and

the hanging on became a letting go.

Softly,

floating,

still in the morning

to carpet a cooling earth, waiting for winter freeze—

the long sleep that dissolves and fertilizes to bring

life again.

That photo is brilliant and the colors are breathtaking. I love your take on Autumn too – the fertilizing time. Never thought of it that way.

I would love to hear from you!
