My Book of Uncommon Prayers: Your Image in Us

When we put so much energy into seeking love,

seeking approval,

we leave little else for giving love,

giving approval.

May all the inner chaos be turned inside out so as to better reflect Your image in us—

to be a true follower:

needed instead of needy.

I LOVE THIS!!! The wisdom of it and the truth in it!
This one causes me to ‘stop’ and listen.

    Thank you!

Wonderful post. I “took it with me” to work yesterday, and tried to be mindful of this wisdom throughout the day. Thanks!

    • Thank you. That means a lot to me!

So often you inspire me, or give me pause to consider another viewpoint. I love your blog.
It’s an act of faith, isn’t it, to send out your thoughts via a blog, and never know whom you might touch with your words and/or pictures.

        • It is an odd thing, blogging. 🙂 When I traveled and sang and spoke, you had a visual connection with your audience. But blogging can reach farther, but in a different way. It is fun that connections are made all over the world and we become in some real sense community. I wish I didn’t have a real job. I would spend more time here. 🙂

        • Real job said with tongue in cheek. Life is our real job.
