The portal is closing, and I’m ready to go.
Beam me up, Scotty,
close the wardrobe, Lucy,
transport me through the wrinkle, Meg,
to another time, another world.
Bummer. It’s only a cumulus cloud.
What a disappointment.

Allllllllllllmost enough blue for a pair of sailor’s britches, as my mom used to say.
You lost me on that one. 🙂
If it was cloudy weather and we had planned to, say, go on a picnic, she would say, “If I see that there is enought blue (of sky) to make a pair of sailor’s britches, we’ll go.” It was an old wives tale on how to tell the weather.
This from Yahoo Answers:
If there is enough blue to make a pair of Dutchman’s britches, it isn’t going to rain any more.
Meaning: After a rain if you see quite a bit of blue sky, it means the clouds are going away and the weather is clearing. Traditionally, the trousers worn by Dutch men were big and baggy-it would take a lot of blue cloth to make a pair.
Interesting. I have been educated! 🙂
I like the poem, the Lucy shut the wardrobe door made me giggle. 🙂
