  1. That red throated hummer took my breath away! What a beautiful creature.

  3. You photos make me anxious for our little hummers to return for the summer.

    Smooth picture taking.

Now I see where they get the name “ruby throated.” The color is phenomenal! Great shots!

    • Actually, these are Anna’s hummingbirds, but man it is hard to tell them apart. From what I can see, the length of the wing and the curve of the beak are what distinguish the ruby-throated. But they all flash some kind of color. Also, I think ruby ones have more light feathers on the chest.

Thank you to a fine photographer; have told you before but telling you again: you’re good, no, excellent with your camera…

  7. I have so enjoyed your little hummers! These images are beautiful. Thanks for sharing. BTW, how do you get a photo landscape behind your page? I love the bluebells? Or are they another flower?

    • Thanks!
I went to Dashboard–Appearance–Background and uploaded a photo.
These are called lupines here in CA, and I think bluebells are a kind of lupine.

      • Very pretty. I don’t know much about flowers, just that BlueBells are the state flower of Texas, a neighbor of us Oklahomans! Our prettiest are Redbud blossoms – which got bit by a late freeze. 😦

I would love to hear from you!
